Diego Miguel, Juan

Juan Diego Miguel, Dévanos (Soria), 1955. For several years he studied Architecture and drawing at the studio of painter Luis Herrera, in Madrid, where he obtained a degree in Fine Arts in 1984. In 1985, he was awarded the «Antonio del Rincón» (Guadalajara) First Prize for Drawing. His work has been exhibited in Spain and abroad in a large number of individual and collective exhibitions. The individual exhibitions include Madrid, Orfila Gallery (1986), Macarrón Gallery (1988), Egam Gallery (1990), Bat Gallery (1995); in Valencia, El Palau Gallery (1990, 1991, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2005); in Barcelona, Maeght Gallery (1993, 1996, 2000); in Munich, Svetlana Gallery (1988); Berlín, Kunsthof (2004, sponsored by the collector Werner Arnhold); Zurich, Kunstraum am Hottingerplatz (2003); Montecarlo, ABN-AMOR Bank (2000) and Fairmont (2005); Paris, Galerie Valmay (2005); Brussels, Rollebeek Gallery (2005); Sao Paulo (he inaugurated the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture -MUBE with a repeat in 2004). Many of his works are on display in public spaces: Hotels of the NH and AC chains in Madrid, Almería, Barcelona, Cordoba, etc., the central offices of Iberdrola in Murcia and Toledo, the head offices of the Guardiana Water Confederation in Ciudad Real, the Water Board and Company Headquarters of AVANCO, Pamplona.
